Experimenting with type and layouts while exploring grids, and conveying the essence of a story through visuals.

I worked on creating layouts for a short story, while attempting to keep them playful and experimental. I decided to pick Jhumpa Lahiri’s 'A Temporary Matter'.

 

The story revolves around a married couple who spend 5 days of hour long power outages together, and how they cope with it. This shared experience brings about conversations between them, about their lives together.
